Kowai Angus Breeding Goals are:

  • To use AI to access proven superior meat/growth sires Typical Kowai dam
  • To continue to develop the maternal traits of our 230 registered breeding cows
  • Calve at 2 years
  • Maintain calving ease balanced with sufficient growth to process progeny at 18 months
  • Carcase quality without excessive fat - we are concerned about trimmer gradings
  • Ensure adequate milk
  • Structural correctness and balance
  • Moderate frame
  • Maintaining bone - our experience is that light boned cattle don't perform in adverse conditions such as drought or cold winters
  • Quiet temperament - all animals individually assessed
